For decades,
a simple through camel-back truss bridge carried Junction Road (Schoharie
County Route 27) over Schoharie Creek. Aging but graceful, the
old bridge was replaced in 2006 with a modern through Pratt truss.
The National Bridge Database lists that the bridge was built in 1931; however,
I believe that the original bridge had been in place elsewhere.

The original Junction Road bridge over Schoharie Creek. Although the National Bridge Index says the bridge was built in 1931, the design style is more consistent with the turn of the century. |
The former Junction Road bridge was a narrow bridge that carried one lane of traffic. |
