Good News - I-40 in Western NC to reopen on Tuesday, April 27th

I-40 near the NC/TN border will reopen Tuesday after being closed for just over six months from a rockslide on October 25, 2009.

Better News--NCDOT just issued a press release saying I-40 will open at 6PM tonight, Sunday April 25. Both eastbound lanes will be open, but only 1 westbound as final work is completed over the next two months. Trucks with wide loads will still have to use the detour during this time. See http://www.ncdot.org .
