They are on the I-73 Segment 5 page after the Wendover Ave photos:
http://www.duke.edu/~rmalme/i73seg5.htmlBob Malmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09649382368833503195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19434910.post-28732057505305503922009-08-03T12:41:25.069-04:002009-08-03T12:41:25.069-04:00That would be interesting to have 2stretches of In...That would be interesting to have 2stretches of Interstate meet at a skew North of Asheboro. At least the signage would be more consistent at the I-73 and I-85 Jct South of Greensboro. Also, could you get a photo of the End I-73 NB at I-40?

StephenS Summersnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19434910.post-83646505225916319412009-07-28T23:40:22.383-04:002009-07-28T23:40:22.383-04:00The US 220 waiver would come in handy when the I-7...The US 220 waiver would come in handy when the I-74 freeway is completed to US 220, now scheduled for 2012. Thus I-73 could then be signed north of I-74 to the Loop, and on the Loop to I-40, connecting it to an interstate at both ends. The segment south of I-74 through Asheboro would still have to be reconstructed for it to be signed I-73/74.Bob Malmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09649382368833503195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19434910.post-43097341267756353552009-07-28T12:30:41.486-04:002009-07-28T12:30:41.486-04:00From talking with the DOT engineer in charge of th...From talking with the DOT engineer in charge of the resigning, He said that I-73 would not be signed North of I-40 until the NC-68/US-220 connector is constructed to provide a lengthy segment of I-73 to decrease the confusion to motorists. This connection will also provide a reroute of US-220. You had said in a previous post that they hadn't changed the signs for that stretch of road (from I-40 to Bryan Blvd) yet. That gave me hope, as I think it's just stupid to name a large interstate-type road "TO Bryan Blvd" for the next 20 years until the loop is done. I was speaking of the route of I-73 along it. Originally I-73 was to travel all the way north on US 220 to I-40 then take I-40 west to NC 68. NCDOT, for cost and other considerations, decided to place I-73 on the Greensboro Loop to Bryan Blvd then west to NC 68.

As for US 421, up until a month ago it ran north through the Loop Bob Malmehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09649382368833503195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19434910.post-53779706641277897572009-07-27T12:06:58.720-04:002009-07-27T12:06:58.720-04:00im confused.....what are the former and present ro...im confused.....what are the former and present routings of US 421 and US 220? how has that changed as they have commissioned and decommissioned I-40 along the loop?

i often wonder why they don't sign the lower loop AND the upper loop all as i-840....would make a lotta sense, wouldn't itAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
